BARTLESVILLE, OK (March 28, 2011) - The 2011 Race Brothers Farm and Home Supply Show Me Racin Series springs to life this weekend. For the first time in series history, it will be under the direction of Bill and Cathy McMurtrie, who purchased the series from founder, Ken Essary. “We’ve worked hard this off season to put a competitive rules package together and secure sponsorship for the season,” stated Bill McMurtrie. “Now we’re ready to get our races underway.” This weekend will be the first of four stops at Tri State Speedway in Pocola, OK. The “2011 Kegger” will feature all the Speedway’s weekly classes running in support of the Race Brothers Show Me Racin Series, as well. In 2010, Tri State Speedway was a playground for three time series champion Justin Wells. He won all three events three and became the series all-time wins leader in the process. Wells will be back looking for four in a row in Pocola. Other drivers expected include; two-time series champion Leslie Essary, dirt late model Hall of Famer Ken Essary, Jarrod Hilton, Chris Deaton, Randy Russell, Brandon Cheek, Larry Campbell, Randy Zimmerman, Willie Gammill, Ray Peacock, Chris Morelock, Chris Reese, Gene Davlin, Clay Julian and Mel Kluhsman. The pit gate opens at 4 PM and the grandstands open at 5 PM. Hot laps start at 6:15 PM and racing begins at 7 PM. Open practice will take place in all divisions on Friday April 1.
