Speedweeks continue with Invader stops at Burlington, West Liberty

BURLINGTON, Ia (July 1, 2006) – A pair of $1,000 to win Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders events will highlight the Independence Day holiday, as the series heads to 34 Raceway on Monday, July 3rd, and the inaugural visit to West Liberty Raceway on July 4th.

Matt Sutton became the first two-time winner on the circuit at the Lee County Speedway this past Wednesday. The Macomb, Ill. driver finished third the last time the Invaders visited the W. Burlington 3/8-mile back in April. Matt Rogerson was the winner and padded his all-time wins stranglehold at 34. Rogerson has a 4 to 2 lead over Jerrod Hull. Bobby Hawks, Terry McCarl, and Mike Reinke also have wins at Burlington.

The inaugural Firecracker 50 will roll off on the Fourth of July, with two 25-lap features at the West Liberty Raceway. The Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders and Open Late Models will share center stage on the big half-mile in an event sponsored by Aaron’s Sales & Lease and Kile Motorsports. Should Mother Nature become a factor, July 5th is the rain date.
