Peoria Sprint Invasion precedes Brodix ToC

BURLINGTON, IA (July 25, 2006) – The Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders travelers will put their 360 cubic inch power plants to the test on the tight ¼-mile Peoria Speedway on Friday, July 28. The 13th round of 2006 will mark the third visit to the Illinois Bullring as the series readies for the 8th Annual Brodix Tournament of Champions at the Knoxville Raceway.

In two previous Peoria visits, Bobby Mincer and Jerrod Hull have each shared trips to victory lane. Mincer, the 2004 Invaders driving champion, bested Pekin, Ill.
veteran Manny Rockhold while on his way to the title.

Last season, Hull earned one of his five event wins in the late Rich DeReu’s familiar #50 by defeating Jesse Gianetto and a field of 26. Qualifying Heat Races are
scheduled to begin at 6:30 on Friday for the $1,000 to win, $200 to start 25-lapper.

Seventeen drivers have earned the right to represent the Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders team at “The Brodix.” The $5,000 to win, $300 to start invitation-only event will roll off on Sunday, August 6, following the 360 Nationals presented by NAPA Auto Parts. Though the Invaders have never won the Team competition at the Brodix, Terry McCarl took the 2003 event win for Team SIA. Those eligible to compete include points leader Matt Sutton, Ryan Jamison, Korey Weyant, Randy Plath, Bobby Mincer, Brian Hetrick, Dave Anderson, Jayson Ditsworth, Nick Eastin, Justin Newberry, Jeff Mitrisin, Josh Schneiderman, Bart Andrews, Rager Phillips, Tony Daniels, Jimmy Davies, and Daniel Avery.
