All Star Awards Banquet Ticket Deadline Approaches

CAMARGO, IL (Dec. 9, 2006) -  The All Star Circuit of Champions would like to remind everyone who plans on attending the 2006 Season Championship Awards Banquet that the deadline for ordering tickets is drawing near. Tickets for this event are available to the general public. Fans of the sport as well as teams, owners, family, and friends are encouraged to attend. Ticket price is $23 per person, and all tickets must be ordered through Eldora Speedway. Send checks or money orders to Eldora Speedway - 13929 SR 118 - New Weston, OH 45348 with your ticket request or call the speedway office at (937) 338-3815. All ticket orders MUST be received no later than January 2, 2007. NO tickets will be sold at the door. There will be a cash bar and due to State of Ohio liquor laws there will be NO carry in or out of alcoholic beverages.

The award ceremony will be held at the Eldora Ballroom which is located in front of Eldora Speedway at 13929 SR 118 in New Weston, OH. The doors will open at 11 am followed by the official welcome and invocation at 12:00. At 12:15 the meal will be served followed by the awards presentation. Eldora Speedway owner Tony Stewart will be on hand to participate in the event and hand out awards.

The All Stars will share the stage with the Sunoco American Late Model Series as well as the UMP Modifieds and the Eldora Stock Car division in a combined event honoring the top drivers from the 2006 season. The All Stars have always maintained a solid relationship with Eldora Speedway and the series was invited to participate in this awards ceremony for the sprint car portion of the program.

The All Star Circuit of Champions will honor Series Champion Greg Wilson and the Top 10 drivers for the 2006 racing season. Wilson will pocket $50,000 to share with car owner Verl Warnimont as the All Stars will pay out nearly $200,000 in cash and contingency awards. Brock Mayes, who is currently racing in Australia, finished the season in the runner up spot behind Wilson. Third was rookie sensation Chad Blonde. Paul May was 4th, Danny Smith 5th, Brandon Martin who was the runner up in the rookie chase was 6th, Barry Ruble 7th, Dale Blaney 8th, James Mosher 9th, and Butch Schroeder rounded out the Top 10. Chad Blonde is the 2006 All Star Rookie of the Year and will collect an additional $10,000 for that honor.
