O’Reilly Midwest All Star Series Crowns Hull as Inaugural Champ

CAMARGO, IL (1-20-08) – The O’Reilly Midwest All Stars closed the books on the 2007 season by honoring the inaugural series champion, Jerrod Hull, and the rest of the Top 10 drivers of the 2007 season at the Orlando Banquet Hall in St. Louis, MO on Saturday night.

Starting out the evening for the Midwest All Stars, series president Guy Webb announced that he will be releasing the Midwest All Star schedule soon and expects to have 25 to 30 races in 2008. “We’ve got a lot of good guys coming to race with us next year,” said Webb, “and I think a lot of people are going to be surprised. We’ll be visiting a few new tracks around the Midwest and of course we’ll be spending a considerable amount of time in this area.” He went on to say, “We’ll have several announcements coming out over the next few weeks that I think will bring back some old fans and possibly even create some new ones. I’m excited about the future of this series.”

The Midwest All Star Series handed out $15,000 in cash to the Top 10 finishers of the inaugural 2007 racing season. A full crowd was on hand as the drivers were given their checks and trophies, which were provided by Duane Davis. Series Coordinator, Steve Libby, said, “I was new at this in 2007, but I have the same goals as Guy Webb. We’re building this series by building relationships. Everyone gets along really good in this group.”

Guy Webb described the first season of the Midwest series by saying, “These guys racing together is not anything new. However, racing together as a package for a higher purse is something new and we intend to build on that. Our goal is to gain respect in 2008 as a series. These drivers need to be paid what they are worth. They’ve been putting on some great racing in this area for over 20 years. It’s not a secret anymore.”
