Struggles continue for John Hall
by: Stacy Ervin

MARION, IA (July 26)--After a strong 2007 season, John Hall and the Left Turn Enterprises racing team have been faced with nothing but frustration in 2008. A devastating crash at the penultimate race last season which was caused by another driver's mistake forced the team to completely rebuild the car over the winter. And since then, not much has gone in the right direction for the team.

The struggle continued on Saturday, July 26, at the Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa. With big national races set to come to the Sprint Car Capital of the World in the next two weeks, many extra cars were on hand and Hall pulled another unfortunate draw for starting position in his heat race in the 360 division.

Starting eighth out of nine competitors in his seven-lap heat race, he could only muster three laps in a race car that could not get a hold of the dirt surface and finished ninth. That put him at the back of the starting grid for the night's eight-lap C-Main. Once again, the car did not react and he finished his night after two laps, credited with a 10th-place finish.

The team will now take a few weeks away from racing and hopefully be back to finish out the Knoxville Championship Cup Series season on August 23 and August 30.

The race car is owned by Charles and Doris Hall. Crew members are Darrell Bonesteel, Cole Page, Cass Page and Steve Lindell. Regular sponsors include Maxim Racing, Parker Engines, APC Emmert Metal Fabricators, Super Shox, Chalk Stix Torsion Bars, Marion Dairy Queen, Brake Man Brake Systems, Thompson Aero Service and Seal-It International.

The team is actively seeking additional funding to help with its racing effort.
