John Hall has eventful night with Sprint Invaders

MARION, IA (Sept 20) - John Hall and his Left Turn Enterprises racing team made its first trip to the Quad City Raceway in East Moline, Illinois, on Saturday, September 20, and had a very eventful night with the Sprint Invaders Association.

The night started off on a rough note when a car spun in front of Hall at the beginning of his hot-lap session and he found himself with nowhere to go. The impact bent the right-front wheel and nerf bar, smashed the header flat and bent the top wing. That sent the team scrambling to fix the damage before the first heat race and meant they had no practice laps on the high-banked quarter-mile track.

Hall's heat race was full of strong competitors and the best he could do in the eight-lap affair was maintain his running position.
Unfortunately, it was not strong enough to transfer him directly into the main event. He started on the pole of the B-Main and slipped back a few spots behind some strong cars. But he did manage to transfer to the feature even despite some lingering mechanical issues.

Starting near the tail of the 25-lap main event, Hall was able to charge to a 14th-place finish. This was quite a feat since there were several cautions for cars spinning out. Hall was even involved in one of the incidents when he got hit from behind and pushed into a spun car, but luckily, his machine did not suffer any major damage that time.

The team plans to finish off the season with the Sprint Invaders Association Season Championship at 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa, on Saturday, October 4.

The race car is owned by Charles and Doris Hall. Crew members are Darrell Bonesteel, Cole Page, Cass Page and Steve Lindell. Regular sponsors include Maxim Racing, Parker Engines, APC Emmert Metal Fabricators, Super Shox, Chalk Stix Torsion Bars, Marion Dairy Queen, Brake Man Brake Systems, Thompson Aero Service and Seal-It International.

The team is actively seeking additional funding to help with its racing effort.
