John Hall Racing plans for 2010 season kickoff

MARION, IOWA (April 25, 2010) - John Hall and his Left Turn Enterprises racing team are getting close to kicking off their 2010 sprint-car racing season. This week, the team is working furiously in an effort to be ready to roll on Saturday, May 1, when the famed Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, opens its 57th ^ season of weekly racing.

This year marks the 23rd year of racing for the veteran driver from Marion, Iowa, and 1988 Knoxville Raceway Rookie of the Year in the 360 sprint-car division. He will once again be piloting the No. 7H owned by his parents, Charles and Doris Hall, in the 360 class.

Crew members are Darrell Bonesteel, Steve Lindell, Cass Page and Cole Page. Regular sponsors include Maxim Racing, Parker Engines, APC Emmert Metal Fabricators, Marion Dairy Queen, Seal-It International, Thompson Aero Service and Chalk Stix Torsion Bars.

The team is hoping that this season will bring a resurgence of good fortunes after the roller-coaster ride of the past three years. Hall was in position for a top-10 points finish in 2007 when another driver crashed him into Knoxville's turn-four guardrail at the penultimate race. After spending the winter rebuilding from scratch, 2008 was an up-and-down season of getting all the new parts and pieces to work together.

In 2009, things had finally started to come together on Independence Day when another driver jumped the start of the first feature on Twin Features Night and sent Hall careening into another car before taking several hard nosedives into the black dirt. The spectacular wreck in front of the frontstretch grandstands not only demolished the car a second time, but also sent Hall to the hospital with a fractured toe and compressed vertebrae in his back.

Following that incident, Hall and the team were encouraged by all of the well wishes received from fans and fellow competitors. Another winter of rebuilding from scratch is winding down and the team is hoping to get back on the track as soon as possible.

The team continues to actively seek funding for its 2010 efforts. New sponsorship at all levels is welcome for the season, partial season or even a one-race opportunity. The team's website at www.johnhallracing.com <http://www.johnhallracing.com/> has also gotten an update over the winter. And a new “John Hall Racing #7H” fan page has been created for those on Facebook.
