New home, big prizes, same fun planned for Fall Jamboree Golf Scramble

ROCHESTER, Minn. (Sept. 16) – The same fun and games are in store for golfers again at the annual Golf Scramble during this year’s Featherlite Fall Jamboree, but this year participants will find themselves chasing birdies at one of the most scenic golf courses in Southern Minnesota.

On top of that, they’ll be chasing the biggest prizes ever offered at the annual event.

Located just minutes from the Deer Creek Speedway, the Maple Valley Golf and County Club in Rochester will host this year’s golf outing on Friday, Sept. 24.

Maple Valley Golf & Country Club has been heralded as the most beautiful golf course in Southeastern Minnesota. Surrounded on three sides by limestone bluffs and the Root River, it gives the course a natural difficulty.

Whether it is teeing off of the 50-foot drop to the green below on the third hole, or being surrounded by water hazards on all sides of hole #15, Mother Nature has done well, making your job both difficult and gorgeous.

For more information about the Maple Valley Golf & Country Club, call 507-285-9100 or visit www.maplevalleygolf.com online.

A hole-in-one contest will be featured on each of the four par-3 holes. The #3 hole will pay $10,000 if a golfer can “ace” that hole, with a new 26” LCD flat screen TV, Callaway Big Bertha Iron set and two round-trip airfare tickets to anywhere in the continental United States being up for grabs on the other three par-3 holes.

The cost to sign-up and be eligible for the par-3 bonus holes is optional and just $5 per person. At the conclusion of the golf tournament, one person’s name will be drawn from the players that signed up for the hole-in-one contests. That person will get the opportunity to sink a 60-foot putt for $5,000.

As in the past, the format for this year’s Golf Scramble will be a four-person best-ball contest with dozens of flag prizes and post-tournament awards.

Unlike past golf outings, however, this year’s installment at the Maple Valley Golf & Country Club will allow for a full 18-hole tournament which means twice as many teams will take part in the Texas-style shotgun start.

The cost is just $40 per person and includes 18 holes of golf and cart. Drivers, crewmembers, sponsors and fans alike are invited to join in the fun.

Registration is going on now and will continue until 8:45 a.m. on Friday morning. The tournament will begin at 9 a.m. sharp.

A shuttle bus will be available to take golfers to and from the racetrack, leaving at 8 a.m. Friday morning and returning to the racetrack following the golf outing. Riding the shuttle is free, but tips are appreciated.

To register, call Todd at 515-832-7944 or email todd@usmts.com. Spots are filling up fast, so get yourself or your team entered today.

DIRECTIONS TO MAPLE VALLEY GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB: From the racetrack, go about 17 miles north on US-63/S. Section Ave. (turns into CR 1), then turn right on 75th St. SE.
