GILMAN CITY, MO. (Dec. 22, 2006) - Jim and Nancy Wilson, founders of the WORLD Dirt Racing League PolyDome Late Model Series, recently received an Achievement Award at the Racing Promotion Monthly (RPM) Promoters Workshop held in Reno, Nev.

The couple, who founded the popular regional Late Model touring series in late 2001, were cited by the prestigious organization for Dedication to Racing Promotion.

In accepting the award from workshop organizer Stewart Doty, editor of Racing Promotion Monthly, Jim Wilson thanked Doty for his tireless efforts on behalf of the sport of auto racing.

"The RPM Workshops have contributed greatly, not only to my personal success in racing, but also to the success of the WORLD Dirt Racing League," Wilson said.

"The workshops have always been very educational, and I have picked up a lot of ideas from them," he added. "But more than that, they have given racing people an avenue to get together and become one big family. They have made people realize that we are all in this game together, and the more we work together, the better it is for the sport."

In five seasons, the WDRL has become one of the most popular and well-respected touring series in the country. This past season, nearly 300 drivers from 27 states and Canada participated in PolyDome Late Model Series events, with the series average of 44.1 cars per event among the highest of any touring series in the country.

Also receiving Achievement Awards during the three-day event were George England of NARI Agency LLC, who has insured local racing tracks for more than 30 years, and Rick Sweigart, second-generation promoter of Mount Lawn Speedway in New Castle, Ind.

Nearly 700 individuals representing 160 local race tracks, racing associations and touring series were in attendance at this year's RPM Promoters Workshop, held at the Eldorado Hotel Casino Dec. 7-9.
