THE JULY 25 WDRL RACE IN DAVENPORT, IOWA, HAS BEEN CANCELLED Talks regarding a reschedule date are underway By Phil Roberts WORLD Dirt Racing League DAVENPORT, Ia (July 14) - The Friday, July 25, 2008 WORLD Dirt Racing League race scheduled here at Davenport Speedway at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds has been cancelled. WDRL has learned that on July 25 preparations will be underway for the upcoming fair, and the race track and adjacent pit area will be unavailable. This was not anticipated earlier, and both WDRL and fair officials regret the inconvenience to racing fans and teams. Talks are underway with regard to a possible reschedule date for the race. WDRL will provide more information in that regard as soon as it is available. The next WORLD Dirt Racing League Late Models Series event is Sunday, July 20, at Boone County Raceway in Albion, Neb. Hot laps are set for 5:30 p.m. July 20 with Iowa-Illinois Taylor Insulation Qualifying to follow. The CrashedToys.com Heat Races will hit the track at 6 that night. Only 12 points separate first through third in the series standings, so competition should be at its finest.
