JIMMY MARS WINS WDRL FEATURE AT SUPERIOR, WISCONSIN
Driver posts his third WDRL win of the season and 14th career victory

SUPERIOR, WIS. (July 30, 2008) - Jimmy Mars has scored his third WORLD Dirt Racing League victory of 2008. His latest win came here on Wednesday at Superior Speedway. Despite leading all 50 laps, Mars wasn't sure about the win until the very end.

"It confused me at the end," admitted Mars. "I felt like it (the car) was going away a bit more than I thought it should. This car is so new we're still trying to tweak it a bit. It felt good, but there's just a couple of things we need to work on."

While Mars controlled things up front, second place was a different story. Wendell Wallace and Rob Moss ran door to door as the WDRL Late Model Series feature was reaching the midway point. Moss took command of second place off of turn two on lap 23. Then Wallace took advantage of lapped traffic to retake second six laps later.

The Iowa-Illinois Taylor Insulation Fastest Qualifier, Darren Miller, started 10th. As the race approached its conclusion, Miller found himself in a battle for second. Wallace would eventually hold off Miller and take that spot. Miller finished third. Moss drove home with a fourth-place finish, and Justin Fegers rounded out the top five.

The 50-lapper saw several drivers make big steps forward. Steve Laursen went from 14th to sixth, Ashley Anderson from 21st to seventh, Brady Smith from 15th to eighth and Chad Simpson from 20th to ninth.

The win for Mars was his 14th career WDRL feature win and his fourth at the Superior Speedway, the track at which he won his first-ever Late Model feature.
