10th Annual Late Model Knoxville Nationals: September 26-28

| September 27, 2013

KNOXVILLE, Iowa (September 26, 2013) –Knoxville Raceway is set to celebrate one decade of hosting the Late Model Knoxville Nationals on September 26-28, 2013. The top Late Model Drivers in the Nation will compete for a total purse of more than a quarter million dollars with the champion taking home $40,000.

Experience the best dirt slinging action and suspense at the 10th Annual Lucas Oil Late Model Knoxville Nationals presented by Caseys General Stores. The weekend features a full program of racing, plus a Hall of Fame Auction, Meet and Greet sessions, fan and trade show, and much more!

Drivers will qualify on Thursday, and may race again on Friday to improve their standings for the finals on Saturday night. Officials have decided to try and make the Time Trial order a little fairer when there are so many cars qualifying each evening. This year time trials will be divided up into two groups, an A group and a B group. After time trials cars will be lined up racing against their own group for a starting spot in the A Min which will be filled by the highest finishing cars out of the heats and the top six cars coming out of the B Main. Going to this format also requires that the number of heats be change to six instead of five as in the past.

The Fan and Trade Show is free for all to attend from 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. each day with exhibits on the Midway behind the main grandstands. A meet and greet session will be held on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. in the Dyer-Hudson Hall off the Midway. Last year, the free event ran for over two hours as hundreds of fans lined up to meet, talk and get pictures and autographs from the drivers. Fans are encouraged to bring their favorite apparel and photos for the drivers to autograph!

The National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum will host numerous events during the weekend including a large museum-benefit auction, a new NASCAR book-signing, and appearances by veteran Iowa dirt late model drivers Billy Moyer, Don Hoffman, VerlinEaker, Fred Horn, Ken Walton, Ed Sanger, Tom Hearst, Curt Hansen, Roger Dolan and Gary Webb.Learn more at http://sprintcarhof.com.
