LEBANON, MO (May 5, 2012) – With a full moon high overhead,Midway Speedway had a full and wild night of racing as first time winners visited the winners circle.

Action started with the Factory Stocks as co-point leaders Brian Schutt and Bob Gustin started on the front row.Schutt grabbed the opening with Gustin following.A good race between Brandon Waters and defending champion Tyson Troutman with Troutman getting the spot.Schutt pulled away as Gustin was locked into second place as now Mark Simon was coming towards the front. On lap 6 Simon moved around Troutman to grab third spot as another co-point leader Tim Petty was working forward. On lap 12,Troutman and Petty got together in turn 3 ending both Petty’s night and Simon suffering a flat tire.On the restart,Schutt pulled away again with Gustin holding to second and Ted Welschmeyer moving into third spot. With 2 laps to go,Schutt pulled away to take his first win of the season followed by Gustin,Welschmeyer,Brandon Waters,Troutman recovering to finish in the top 5.

Another first time winner would be found in the B-Modified feature event as Cody Nivens took the lead from point leader Ted Ballinger on lap 7 and withstood many challanges from DeWayne Hobbs to grab his first ever Midway feature.

The start placed point leader Ted Ballinger and Shane Bias on the front row.At the drop of the green Ballinger took the opening lead as Nivens and Hobbs followed.close racing  up front kept things interesting among the top 3.Ballinger was also looking for his first win also as was Hobbs.Nivens made the winning pass on lap 7 over Ballinger but Hobbs kept the pressure on the remaining laps as the top 3 were glued.Tim Ballinger and Bill Schaar rounded out the top 5.

Pure Stock racing would have point leader Rob White getting back into his winning form holding off last weeks winner Matt Young.

After his car catching on fire 2 weeks ago,it was Jack Wood in the old 57 Chevy K-4 car taking the early lead from his outside front row spot with White close behind.Early contender Shorty Doublin went out on lap 2 with heavy smoke coming from his car.Wood and White went wheel t owheel with White taking over on lap 4 as Young was coming from his 8th start position. On lap 9,Young got around wod and gave chase to White, but never was able to make the pass as White takes the win with Young and Wood close behind.

The Street Stock feature almost had a new winner as Mark Simon’s winning streak was on the line. With defending champion joe Francis not on hand tonight, lady driver Karla Lampe would provide plenty of competition this evening.Lampe got the lead from the front row leading over Kevin Forshey with Matt Darnell trailing.Lampe looking for the 1st ever win was holding Darnell at hand as point leader Simon had worked from the 5th row to move into second on lap 3. The action slowed on lap 4 as Keith Cheever,Forshey,Brandon Henderson and Chad Schildt brought out the yellow as Schildt smacked the wall hard ending his night. On the restart Lampe was holding off Simon’s moves.Simon took the lead on lap 7,but Lampe was back in front one lap later.Lampe would lead until the final lap when Simon made a winning pass.Lampe and Darnell completed the top 3 runners.

Point leader Sam Petty took the lead from Mark Davis on lap 5 and took another win in the Midwest Modified event.Davis who had motor problems last week in his new car took the lead from his pole spot on the opening lap with Bennie Joiner and Travis Hill.Mark Raymond’s night ended on lap 4 as he and Jamie Petty spun.On the restart,Petty took advantage of the restart and grabbed the lead from Davis.Petty would not be denied another win as Davis secured second place with Travis Hill grabbing third place.
