HORNET'S MECHANIC'S RACE TO FOLLOW WEEKLY RACING PROGRAM AT 24 RACEWAY W/ITH CAR SHOW ON SUNDAY

MOBERLY, MO (May 19, 2010) - "Dirt Track Racing at its Best" returns this weekend to Moberly, MO at 24 Raceway in a regular race program.  This Saturday night, May 22nd, the A-modifieds, the B-modifieds, Sportsman, Hobby Stock and the 4 cylinder Hornets will be racing at 24 Raceway and competing for their respective season points.will be followed by the first mechanic's race of the season.  After the feature races are completed, mechanics for the 4 cylinder Hornet class will get to turn the steering wheel instead of the wrenches, in a six lap shoot out.  Sometime during the race, the car's regular driver may be required to do a tire change on the front stretch.  The action will take place again on these high banks, east of Moberly, Missouri on U.S. Highway 24 with adult ticket prices for the grandstand at $10, and children, 12 and under, admitted free.  Racing starts at 7 p.m. with hot laps scheduled for 6:15, following the a short drivers' meeting at 6pm.  See the website of www.24racewayinmoberly.com for flyers for upcoming specials.  A revised schedule has also been posted on the website, featuring the rescheduled Midget race night and MLRA event, but watch for another revision for the rescheduling of last week's rained-out ASCT wingless sprint car race. 

And then on Sunday, May 23rd, there will be a full blown car show at 24 Raceway's open areas in the south end near Highway 24.  This is the rain date listed on the flyer.  A $100 prize and trophy will go to the overall Best of Show courtesy of O'Reilly Automotive.  Concessions will be available, free activities for the kids, and music will be provided by KZZT 105.5 FM.  And with 24 classes, there's certainly a class to get your show car into.  All entries receive a dash plaque and the first 75 will get a tee-shirt too.  Registration takes place from 10am to 1pm, Judging from 1pm to 3pm with awards at 4pm.  Flyers for both the upcoming Gary Scott Memorial W.O.W. event and the 2nd Annual Car Show can be found on the website of www.24racewayinmoberly.com as well as www.heartlandmotorsports.com

    June 18&19 - It's an ALL-DUKEFEST WEEKEND with bands, concessions, quite a bit of General Lee show cars, a few of the Duke's show characters on site, and even an actual General Lee car jump!  (no racing set for this weekend)

    June 24 - MLRA + Sportsman + Hobby Stock classes in an all-fendered racing Thursday show

    June 26 - Hobby Stock Special + weekly racing series

 

"Dirt Track Racing at its Best" is back once more this Saturday in Moberly, MO at 24 Raceway, just three miles east of US Highway 63.
