FORMAT RELEASED FOR TWIN 50’S; SEPT 29 MOD SPECIAL ADDED

Lucky fan can win $100; Mod Special on 9/29 to pay $2,012

PEORIA, IL (Sept 10, 2012) – Peoria Speedway is pleased to announce that the Illinois State Championship “Twin 50’s” for UMP Modifieds will pay UMP National Points for both races, as per agreement with UMP. The first race will pay $1,000 to-win and the 2nd 50 will pay $2,000.

The program will consist of one lap of qualifying for the Modifieds and heat races, along with a B Main. The first 50 lap feature will be run, and drivers will be allowed to go to the pits to get their cars ready for the second race. Cars 11-20 will start the 2nd feature where they finished the first feature, while positions 1-10 will draw a Frisbee which will be numbered 1 through 10. The number on the Frisbee will set up the lineup for the top 10 spots in the 2nd feature, and then the drivers will autograph the Frisbee’s and throw them into the crowd. The lucky fan who catches the Frisbee of the winning driver will get $100 cash and a picture with the winning driver in victory lane.

Also racing will be Limited Late Models, UMP Street Stocks, Illinois Lightning Sprints and UMP Hornets. Admission is $18 for adults, $15 for seniors, $5 for ages 8-15 and under 7 are free. Pit gates open at 3 PM, with grandstands at 4 and hot laps at 5. Transponders will be used for all classes except the Hornets.

Just added to the Peoria Speedway schedule is the “Mod Money 2012”, featuring UMP Modifieds racing for $2,012 to win and UMP National points. The Al Archdale, Jr. Memorial Mini-Sprint Nationals event has been moved back to October 6, which opened up the 29th date. Limited Late Models, UMP Street Stocks, Illinois Lightning Sprints and UMP Hornets will also be racing on the 29th. Admission is $15 for adults, $13 for seniors,
