3rd Annual ASCS Jesse Hockett/Daniel McMillin Memorial this Weekend!

Wheatland, Missouri  (September 24, 2013) – The time has come for one of the most anticipated events and most coveted trophies in Sprint Car racing as Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri gets set to host the 3rd Annual Jesse Hockett/Daniel McMillin Memorial this Friday and Saturday, September 27th-28th. “This is just such a special event as we pay tribute to two of the nicest guys to ever roam the pit area.” commented Track General Manager Dan Robinson.”Our phones have been ringing non-stop with both racers and fans calling for information. We are expecting a large turnout of cars in both classes and a large crowd both nights.” continued Robinson.

The Winged Sprint Car portion of the event is headlined by the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour Presented by MavTV with support from the Speedway Motors ASCS Warrior Region. The Impact Signs, Awnings, & Wraps WAR Wingless Auto Racing Sprint Cars Presented by Impact4800.com will also race as part of the mega open wheel event.

Friday and Saturday Night, both the Lucas Oil ASCS Winged Sprint Cars and the Impact Signs WAR Wingless Sprint Cars will each run complete shows including Heats, B-mains, and A-Main Events with both nights set to be filmed by the Lucas Oil Production Studios for broadcast on MavTV at a later date.

Jason Johnson, with his ASCS National Tour leading eight wins in 2013 leads the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour points standings over Albuquerque, New Mexico’s Johnny Herrera. Bartlett, Tennessee’s Jeff Swindell sits third in the points with Brad Loyet and Tony Bruce Jr. rounding out the top-5. Logan Forler, Seth Bergman, Dustin Morgan, Cole Wood, and Brandon Hahn sit 6th-10th respectively. The Speedway Motors ASCS Warrior Region will race with the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour as local favorite Jonathan Cornell has dominated the Warrior Region in 2013 and holds a commanding lead in the Warrior Region points. In the season long battle for the Impact Signs WAR Wingless Auto Racing points championship, Edgerton, Kansas’ Mitchell Moore holds a slim 20 point lead over Warrensburg, Missouri’s Taylor Walton. Spring Hill Kansas’ Chad Goff occupies the third spot with 622 points while 2012 WAR Champion Austin Alumbaugh rides in fourth. Centertown, Missouri’s Jeff Wingate holds down the final spot in the top-5.
