Bacon Carries Momentum into Pair of USAC Events

| September 20, 2020

Lonnie Wheatley, WINCHESTER, Ind. (September 18, 2020) – Brady Bacon surrendered the USAC Sprint Car points lead last weekend.

But only for one night before he posted finishes of second and then first at Lincoln Park Speedway on Saturday night to regain the series points lead.

Bacon and the the Fatheadz Eyewear No. 69 Sprint Car team are back in USAC Sprint Car action this weekend with events at the Terre Haute Action Track on Friday and then Haubstadt’s Tri-State Speedway on Saturday.

Last weekend’s action began with Bacon posting a tenth-place finish at Bloomington Speedway on Friday night after starting 14th.

Shifting over to Lincoln Park Speedway on Saturday, Bacon rallied from eighth to claim runner-up honors in the makeup feature from Indiana Sprintweek and then led the final half of the nightcap for his third Putnamville win of the year and 11th overall.

“Lincoln Park – two features in one day, a first and a second,” Bacon exclaimed.  “You can ask for a little better than that but not much better.  We’ll definitely take it after we struggled last night at Bloomington.”

“We’re pretty fortunate to be in the battle at all,” Bacon said.  “We had some mistakes early in the year.  To even be in the hunt, we’re pretty fortunate for that and that other people had some misfortune.  So, we’re just taking it a day at a time, just going out here and winning races.  Obviously, you have that in the back of your mind when you see other guys struggling a little bit.  You kind of have to put it in a little bit of a conservative mode and not do anything stupid, but at the same time, you want to go out and win races.”

Bacon will try to go out and win another couple of races at Terre Haute and Tri-State Speedway this weekend.
