Battle at the Barn V shaping up to be the biggest event yet

DES MOINES, IA (November 20th, 2012) – The entries are already rolling in for Battle at the Barn V set for January 25th and 26th of 2013 at the Jacobson Building located on the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines, IA.  This past year 318 entries from 11 states signed in to do battle and 2013 is looking even stronger.  This unique event pits go-karts, quads, motorcyles, golf carts, and lawn mowers head to head on the famed Coke syrup oval each January. 

It all kicks off Friday, January 25th, with the pits opening at noon.  There will be an open practice running from 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.  The pits will open at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday with hot laps set for 11:00 a.m. and the first official green flag waving at 1:30 p.m.  One day pit passes are available at a cost of $20 per day, or you can purchase a two day pass for $35.  Grandstand tickets can be purchased for $5 Friday, $13 Saturday, or a two day grandstand pass for $15.  

Once again this year, there are advanced reserved parking spots at a cost of $10 per space and $35 for each electrical outlet.  These can be purchased when the early entry is sent, entries are available online.  The 390 Clone class will be chasing a $1,000 bonus courtesy of Jim’s Johns in Des Moines.  The front row starters will have the option of falling to the tail in their feature event.  If they take this challenge and win, an additional $1,000 will be paid to that driver courtesy of Jim’s Johns.
