Cubby’s Chase to the Silver Dollar Nationals Details

WHEATLAND, MO (April 1st, 2015) – I-80 Speedway has established the Cubby’s Chase to the Silver Dollar Nationals race to be held on Friday, July 17. The race will be held after all other Silver Dollar National events have been concluded on that night. To qualify points will be awarded for both nights of the Spring Meltdown (April 3 & 4) as well as the Alphabet Soup Race on June 26. Each winner of these three races is automatically qualified into the chase. If a driver repeats as a winner, then the runner-up to that driver in his second win qualifies.

Feature race points for all three races will be awarded as follows: (second) 100 (third) 96 (fourth) 94 and then a drop of two points per position for the rest of the A feature. First place will receive no points as they are automatically qualified for the Chase. All other cars will receive 40 points.

The top four in Chase points (not including the winners) also qualify for the Chase. The top two in each series (CBC, MLRA, SLMR) points (not including any of the above) are also qualified. Finally, the winners of the following SLMR Super Series races (Friday, June 5 at I-80 Speedway, Saturday, June 6 at Adams County Speedway, Thursday, July 2 at US 30 Speedway and Thursday, July 16 at I-80) also qualify for the Chase race. If a driver is a previous winner then we will take the runner-up to that driver in his second win. Finally, the driver receiving the most votes in the Cubby’s fan favorite voting will be added to the field.

To set the field for the Chase, there will be two drawings. The following drivers will be in the first draw for the first ten starting positions. The winner’s of the following races (Spring Meltdown both April 3 & April 4, the Alphabet Soup, the June 5 SLMR race, June 6 SLMR race, and the July 2 SLMR) plus the top four in chase points. Lucky Fans as they are chosen will draw for the drivers.

The second draw will be for the last eight starting spots and will include the top two points provisionals from the each of the CBC, MLRA and SLMR plus the July 16 Billy’s Cafe SLMR winner and the fan’s favorite driver. Again Lucky Fans as they are chose will draw for the drivers.

The purse for the Chase race will pay as follows: $2,000, 1,300, 1,000, 750, 600, 500, 450, 400, 300, 300, 300, 300, 200, 200, 200, 200, 200, 200 for a possible total of $9,600.

The Chase race will feature three six-lap segments. We will start with 18 cars in the first segment, race for six laps, throw the yellow, the last six cars in the field will be sent pitside, the lineups confirmed and the second segment restarted, two abreast with twelve cars for six more laps and then the yellow waves again and the field is reduced to eight, then the lineups are set two abreast and the final six laps are completed.

18 lucky fans will be paired up with the 18 drivers. You can enter the Cubby’s Lucky Fan contest with your purchase receipt at the Cubby’s Greenwood Truck Plaza located across from I-80 Speedway at 13604 238th Street, Greenwood, NE.

17 Lucky Fans will be receiving a $50 gift certificate from Cubbys with the fan who is paired up with the winning driver receiving a $100 gift certificate. 17 of the drivers in the Cubby’s Chase to the Silver Dollar Nationals will be receiving a $50 gift certificate from Cubbys with the winner of the race receiving a $200 gift certificate.

Cubby’s involvement is part of Cubby’s Silver Dollar Nationals open house. The whole week of the Silver Dollar Nationals Cubby’s will be giving a discount of five (5) cents per gallon off gasoline or diesel (If paid for in Cash). This is Cubbys way of saying Thanks to the fans.
