MARSHALLTOWN, IOWA (July 31, 2012) – The month of August will heat up in more ways than one with five fast Fridays on the high banks.  This Friday, August 3rd, will be the Old Timer Lounge night and feature a SportMod King of the Hill as the last event of the night paying $100 to win.  The following week, August 10th, J & V Napa will take center stage and sponsor the evening.

The New Hope Church will also feature a cardboad classic race for children 12 and under.  On August 17th the town of State Center will be highlighted as their residents will be admitted free by showing an I.D.  Also on the card will be several Vintage Cars as we honor the pioneers of the sport and watch their cars in exhibition.  Custom Concrete will bump up the purse and pay $500 to win for I.M.C.A. Modifieds on August 24th and cap the night off with a Tough Truck Tug of War.

The final Friday of August will see the Dairy Queen Larry Wollam Season Championship event.  This night pays honor to one of the greats of the speedway in Larry Wollam.  The top 12 in track points will be locked into the feature event and qualifying heats will be run to set the rest of the feature field as we crown the 2012 Track Champions.

The final two events of the season will be the 6th Annual Toby K’s Hideaway Havoc on the High Banks on Friday and Saturday, September 21st and 22nd.  For further information and a complete schedule, check out http://www.marshalltownspeedway.com/ or call the speedway office at 515.432.4703
