FOUR REPEAT WINNERS FOR 2012 ANDERSON,CARTER, HOPKINS AND SOBBING ALL SCORE ANOTHER VICTORY AT SOUTHERN IOWA SPEEDWAY

OSKALOOSA, IOWA (Aprilr 25, 2012) – The third night of the IMCA weekly racing series saw four repeat winners and one new face on Nutz Graphics night at the Southern Iowa Speedway. The night saw some very entertaining action on the track and in the grandstand with the IMCA hobby stock division competing for pit passes in a cracker eating contest.

The Whalen Racing and Autokrafters IMCA sport compacts saw last weeks winner Larry Hopkins of Ottumwa take his second straight passing Merv Chandler of Vinton with six laps remaining. Chandler took second with Bill Whalen Jr. of Riverside in third and Justin Millhouse of Batavia in fourth. The second feature saw another repeat winner Cayden Carter of Oskaloosa passing Jim Lynch of Bloomfield for the lead in the MUSCO Lighting IMCA A-Modifieds. This was the young rookie driver taking his second career in the division. Lynch took second and Shane Weller of Agency another rookie taking third and Brandon Banks of Washington in fourth.

 

 

 

 

The Tracy Elevator IMCA hobby stocks saw three and four wide battles with Danny Thrasher of Agency taking the lead and would lead till Shannon Anderson of Urbandale would make the pass for the lead on lap six of the fifteen lap main event.  Anderson scores his third of the year. The battle between Thrasher and Eric Stanton of Hartford would see Stanton take the second spot with Thrasher in third and fourth going to John Watson from Des Moines.

 

 

 

 

 

The Carter Manufacturing IMCA stock cars always put on a great show each and every week. This week the battle for the lead would have three cars battle with Todd Reitzler of Grinnell lead the field till he would get high in turn one giving the lead to a two car battle between last weeks winner Kyle Harwood of Oskaloosa and Zack VanderBeek of New Sharon and Vanderbeek would take the lead with six laps remaining and score his first win of the season. Nathan wood of Sigourney would race his 52 machine to a second place finish. Harwood in third and Reitzler in fourth.

 

 

 

 

 

The final feature was the Pyramid Graphics and Sports IMCA sport modifieds with Jesse Sobbing of Glenwood making the three and half hour trek to the monster half-mile. He passed for the lead on lap seven and never looked back taking his second and increased his point lead. The second spot battle would heat up with Josh Modde of Des Moines who lost the lead after pacing the first six laps and Modde and Curtis VanderWal of Oskaloosa would go wheel-to-wheel for the final seven laps with Vanderwal taking second and Modde in third and the fourth spot went to another Oskaloosa driver Tony Johnson. Next week will be another night of the IMCA weekly racing action with all five classes in action.

 

 

The action will kickoff with hotlpas at 7PM and racing action at 7:30PM sponsored by Kiss FM 101.5 with Montezuma Night and people from the Monte are getting in for $5.00 with regular admission to  Grandstand is Adults $9 Kids 7-18 $5, 6 and under Free with Pits – $22.
