BELLEVILLE, Ill. — July 1, 2014 — In what’s shaping up to be a seesaw battle for wins between Mike Harrison and Jacob Poel, Harrison claimed his fourth DIRTcar Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals victory Tuesday night at Belle-Claire Speedway, just two nights after Poel’s fourth victory of the season.

A thundering 38 DIRTcar Summit Racing Equipment Modifieds stormed into Belleville, Ill., but Mike Harrison, who last won at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 on Saturday, had the car to beat. Harrison started at the front of the field and stayed there, leading all 30 laps in dominating fashion.

After falling a bumper short of Jacob Poel in a photo finish on Sunday night, Harrison removed all doubt of who the winner was Tuesday night as he beat second place Matt Mevert by more than two seconds. Harrison, the points leader heading into the race, extended his points lead even more after capturing the $1,000 checkered flag at Belle-Claire Speedway.

The DIRTcar Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals joins the DIRTcar Summer Nationals on Wednesday night at Jacksonville Speedway in Jacksonville, Ill.
