WINSTON, MO (August 1, 2015) – First to take on the fast three-eighths mile of dirt at I-35 Speedway were the Grand Nationals as they would complete their make-up feature from July 25, 2015.  When the checkers were shown it was Donnie Brown #26 standing tall in the winner’s circle.  Brown would use a daring high side pass out of turn two to take the lead and never look back.  Bud Wilson #75 and Buz Kaster #54, both heat race winners, would race side by side for the majority of the feature with Wilson placing second and Kaster third.  Behind the leaders would see brother’s dueling it out to the end with Austin Johnson #98 fourth and younger brother Houston Johnson #97 fifth.

In the second make-up feature of the evening from July 25, 2015 would see the USRA B-Modifieds take to the track with heat race winner and point leader Tim Eaton #211 leading every lap on his way to claiming the top spot.  Second place would see great racing action between heat race winner Dustin Miller #52m and veteran driver Randy Ainsworth #97 with Miller gaining the edge placing second, holding Ainsworth to third.  Nic Hanes #9h would work his way through traffic to place a solid fourth with other heat race winner Steve Starmer #11s rounding out the feature’s top five.

Kicking off a new round of racing action the E-Modifieds would not disappoint with wheel to wheel racing from start to finish.  The lead would swap many times throughout the feature with no one claiming the clear advantage until the very end.  When the checkers were shown the familiar face of Anthony Asher #20xa driving for Boller Motorsports would claim the trip to McCarthy Auto Group Winner’s Circle.  Early leader John Brown #36J would battle Asher to the line only to come up short and place second.  Jeremiah Asher #02xa would recover from an early race mishap that sent him to the rear of the field only to charge back to the front runners placing third.  Corey Myers #15 and Justin Asher #74 would switch positions many times as Myers would place fourth leaving Justin Asher to fifth.  Heat race winner included Anthony Asher #20xa, John Brown #36J, and Justin Asher #74.

Like a broken record that keeps on playing, the Hobby Stocks would see Mich Ross #34 once again run wild claiming the night’s feature win.  Heat race winner Joshua Munsen #19 would work his magic to place second. Kyle Rowland #5, always competitive in this class, would again show poise and patience racing his way to third.  John Chipp #47c was a very fast contender by coming back from an early race spin cycle to place fourth.  Carson Masoner, driving the Boller Motorsports #13x, would notch another solid top five run.  Other heat race winner was Tyler Clark #0x.

With Vintage racers visiting I-35 Speedway a familiar face form years gone by would visit victory lane for the first time at I-35 Speedway in his illustrious racing career.  Lonnie Farley #44 would wheel his way through traffic and take advantage of early leader and heat race winner Mickey Fleethart’s misfortune and cruise to the win.  Jim Clevenger #76 would challenge Farley late to no avail placing second.  Jeremy Turner #321 would place third with Shane Wilson #20 fourth.  Heat race winner Damon Clevenger #6 would finish the night in fifth.

In their second feature of the night Grand Nationals would see a different winner as heat race winner Bud Wilson #75 would use that momentum to capitalize and take the win in the feature.  Buz Kaster #54 would end the night second with John Crews #12c third.  Fourth place would witness Houston Johnson #97 holding off the hard charge of fifth place finisher Donnie Brown #26.  Other heat race winner was Austin Johnson #98 who would develop mechanical problems taking his from contention.

In a star studded field of USRA B-Modifieds for their second feature of the evening Bud Wilson #77x would win both heat race and feature giving him two wins in as many classes for the night.  Point leader Tim Eaton #211 would again show skill and consistency as he would race his way to second place.  Other heat race winner Dakota Foster #5 was in the hunt for the lead from start to finish placing third.  Randy Ainsworth #57 had found his stride this season finishing the feature in fourth with Nic Hanes #9h rounding out the top five.  Other heat race winners were Jayden Bears #20j, and Jim Cameron #96c.

In a race of epic proportions the USRA Stock Car class at I-35 Speedway always delivers.  Heat race winner Dean Wray #77 would appear as a second place car for the entire feature as Jason Estes #997 would lead every lap but the one that counted.  Wray would use late race heroics to win on the last corner of the last lap by a mere fender of distance at the line.  Estes would have to settle for the runner up spot on this night with Jeff Dixon #88 third.  Other heat race winner Billie Hoover #21h would place fourth with Thomas Roberts #65x fifth.

On a perfect racing surface prepared by Mike Johnson and Mike Knight the USRA Modifieds would roar to life and excite the capacity crowd in attendance.  Heat race winner Derrick Hicks #78 would use the extreme high line to propel himself to the lead and on to McCarthy Auto Group Winner’s Circle.  Hicks would be challenged every step of the way by Dennis Elliott #29, who would race him clean and finish second.  Heat race winner Darren Shaw was also in the mix early challenging Hicks to no avail as he would slip late to place third.  Big mover of the feature was Zach Sanders #69 as he would race from a shotgun starting position to end the night fourth.  Houston Johnson #97 continues to gain experience and momentum as he would place a solid fifth on the night.

I-35 Speedway would like to Thank Donn Harrison, Teacher of the Year, as he would help pass out backpacks as well as being honorary flagman for the kid’s footrace down the front stretch.  I-35 Speedway presented Mr. Harrison with a plaque of appreciation for all that he does educating our youth.  Over 200 backpacks were stuffed with back to school supplies and given away to all kids in attendance.  All footrace competitors were deemed winners with everyone receiving trophies for their efforts.  We would like to thank all of our drivers for signing autographs as all kids would receive an autograph book as they enter the grandstands.  We will see everyone back next Saturday Night on Scobee Powerline Night plus CARB Night at the Races with the Midwest Lightning Sprints in attendance.  Make-up features for the races will be Midwest Lightning Sprints and USRA Stock Cars for their July 25, 2015 feature event.  See everyone next week for more “Dirt Trackin at its Best”
