WINSTON, MO (April 4, 2015) – Invading I-35 Speedway for the first time in the 2015 racing season the Show-Me Vintage Racers would put on a spectacle that would amuse all in attendance.   After winning his heat race earlier in the night Shane Wilson #20 would find his way through the pack and to the point to never relinquish his lead on his way to claiming the checkers first.  Second place in the feature would find the ageless wonder of Mickey Fleethart #7, with Elmer Gerloff #34, all the way down from Wisconsin, placing third.  Fourth place would go to Randy Anthon #30 as Damon Clevenger #6, after recovering from an earlier race miscue would round out the nights top five.

In an ever-growing field of E-Modifieds, the familiar face of John Brown #36j, would again find his way to McCarthy Auto-Group Winners Circle on the fast three-eighths mile of dirt.  From a front row starting spot Brown would lead every lap holding off the always fast challenge of Jon Boller Jr #02x who would end the night in second place.  Jacob Blair #81 continues to impress holding off the 2014 track champion Kit Bailey to place third, leaving the #77 of Bailey to place fourth.  Justin Asher #74 would finish the feature in fifth.  Heat race winners included Chris Dishong #41, Jacob Blair #81, and Jon Boller Jr #02x.

Four cars would take to the track in the Grand National class with newly inducted Hall of Famer Buz Kaster #54 leading every lap on his way to victory.  Austin Johnson #98 would place second and heat race winner Donnie Brown #26 third.  Houston Johnson #97, driving a barrowed car, would round out the field.

With many of the drivers going through the spin cycle off turn number four the Hobby Stock feature was one to remember with a fresh face standing tall in victory lane.  “The Green Ox” driven by Tyler Clark would be the beneficiary of being in the right place at the right time as one time leader Mich Ross would be facing the wrong way in a one way.  Clark #0x would lead the last eighty feet to capture his first ever win at I-35 Speedway.  Ross #34 would recover gracefully yet be edged at the line to place second.  Conner Masoner #47x would also recover from an early race spin and hold off Daniel Wauters #09 at the line to place third and fourth respectively.  Josh Adkins #15 would rally from an early race turn four spin to come home in fifth place.  Heat race winners were Mich Ross #34 and Greg Gilbert #23g.

USRA B-Mods were the next to try and tame the smooth and fast I-35 Speedway.  With racing action fast and furious from front to back a seasoned veteran would emerge from the back to the pack to claim the night’s top spot.  Eddie Schwope Jr #91 would use skill and patience working traffic to perfection by passing all that stood in his path.  Andy Bryant #28 would make a late race charge to the front only to be forced to settle for second place this night.  With heavy contact between the pair Tim Eaton #211 and one-time leader Jayden Bears #20J would duel it out the checkers with Eaton third and Bears fourth.  Randy Ainsworth #57 was the epitome of consistency with a solid top five finish.  Heat race winners included Jayden Bears #20J, Matt Dorssom #3d, Andy Bryant #28, and Truman Asher #73.  B feature winner Jeff Stotts #12.

In classic USRA Stock Car style the feature would go green white checkers caution free with the familiar face of “Hollywood” Dean Wray #77 in McCarthy Auto-Group Winners Circle.  Wray would inherit the lead early after contact between second place finisher Jeff Dixon #88 and Cody Agee #25 would open the door for #77 to drive thru and never look back.  Dixon would recover with ease and mount charges on the leader but settle for second.  Derick Agee #14 and Bruce Fair #41 would swap positions lap after lap with #14 gaining the late advantage to place third, leaving Fair in fourth.  Thomas Roberts #65x would charge through the pack, after starting deep in the field, to place fifth.  Heat race winners were Jeff Dixon #88 and Cody Agee #25.

Dennis Elliott #29 would lead the fast field of USRA Modifieds to the green flag in an action packed twenty lap feature to wrap up the nights great racing activities.  Elliott would race side by side with outside front row starter Robbie Reed #5 for several consecutive laps before pulling away and cruising to the victory.  Dennis would not be challenged late as he would clearly have the fastest car this night.  After a last lap mishap Jon Sheets #8s would finish the feature in second with Darren Shaw #11 third.  Steven Glenn #26s would charge through the pack passing all challengers on his way to claiming fourth.  Austin Johnson #98, performing double duty, would round out the top five.  Heat race winners were Dennis Elliott #29, Issac Dotson #67d, and Robbie Reed #5.

I-35 Speedway would like to thank all of our loyal fans for braving the chilly night to fill the grandstands and making this a great night of racing fun.  We invite everyone back next week for more “Dirt Trackin at its Best”.
