Lucas Oil MLRA event at Davenport Speedway cancelled

DAVENPORT, Ia. (May 8, 2015) – Davenport Speedway has cancelled the Lucas Oil MLRA event scheduled for tonight Friday, May 8th.

In a press release sent out by Lucas Oil MLRA officials late Thursday, the series announced that all three of their events scheduled for this weekend have been postponed. MLRA cited heavy rains all week long and additional thunderstorms forecasted for the remainder of the weekend, as cause for the postponement.

At this time, it is not known, if the event will be rescheduled.

The Davenport Speedway will roar back to life, next Friday, May 15th, weather permitting. All five weekly classes will be racing on the quarter-mile oval.

The IMCA Mod Madness 50 comes to the Davenport Speedway Friday, May 22nd. A $2,000 top prize awaits the winner of the Modified feature. Top IMCA Modified drivers from Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin, are expected to be on hand.

Also racing will be the Petersen Plumbing & Heating IMCA Late Modelds, the Koehler Electric Street Stocks, the Hawkeye Auto IMCA SportMods, and the Roto-Rooter 4-Stocks.

The Davenport Speedway is located at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, on West Locust Street in Davenport, Iowa. Pit gates will open next Friday at 4:30pm, the grandstand at 5:00pm, with hotlaps at 6:30 and racing at 7:00pm.
