Lucas Oil MLRA to make first ever swing through Eastern Iowa

DAVENPORT, IOWA  (May 1, 2014) –For the first time in its twenty-six year history, the Lucas Oil MLRA Series will journey into Eastern Iowa for a pair of races. The super late model traveling racing series will compete at the Davenport Speedway on Friday, May 9th and the Jackson County Speedway in Maquoketa on Saturday, May 10th.

Previous Lucas Oil MLRA appearances in the Hawkeye State have been at Adams County, Crawford County, and Shelby County Speedways, all in western Iowa.

Both events are co-sanctioned by the Cornbelt Clash Late Model Series.

After the first four races of the 2014 Lucas Oil MLRA season, Terry Phillips of Springfield, MO leads the point standings. Chad Simpson of Mt. Vernon, IA is second and trails by 28 points.

The Lucas Oil MLRA Series is a super late model organization based in Wheatland, Missouri. The Midwest Latemodel Racing Association series will compete in six midwest states in 2014: Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and Oklahoma.
