WINSTON, MO (Oct 3, 2016) –  I-35 Speedway will be hosting the 7th Annual McCarthy Auto Group Show Me Spectacular this Saturday October 8, 2016.  McCarthy Auto Group has been the primary sponsor for this event all seven years and we thank them for their support of I-35 Speedway and their support of the local racing community.  Without them this event would not be possible.  So if you are in the market for a new or even a newer used car please consider purchasing from McCarthy Auto Group and thank them for supporting I-35 Speedway.

This will be the Casey Shuman super-fast Boss Chassis WAR Series Non Wing Sprint Cars season ending event.  The series has enjoyed 81 different competitors in 2016.  In their last action at the Jesse Hockett Memorial which was a 3 night show this series enjoyed three different winners.  So who will claim the season ending WAR Series event at their home track I-35 Speedway? Point leader Clinton Boyles has two I-35 feature wins, second in points Chris Parkinson, Korey Weyant, Justin Grant, and Terry Babb have also claimed a victory in their visits to I-35 Speedway.  Will it be one of these drivers or could it be a new driver to the series?

So who will the win the USRA A Modified Show Me Spectacular feature?  This past week among 21 different competitors Aaron Marrant stood tall.  Four of the top 15 in national points (Marrant, Angst, Cummins, Elliott) were at the track, how many more will come compete not only for USRA points but for the $1,500 payday ($150 to start) for reaching the checkered flag first?

The USRA B Mods have seen 11 different competitors take the checkered flag in 25 nights of racing.  So which of these drivers will take the Show Me Spectacular first prize of $750 ($75 to start)? Or could it be someone new who has yet to compete and win at I-35 Speedway in 2016?  We will not know until Saturday.

The E Modifieds have been dominated this year by Matt Dorssom with 16 wins but there have been 8 other winners in the 25 nights of racing.  So the question again is who will take home the $500 first place prize ($50 to start)?  Could it be this past week’s winner Randy Smith?  Will it be one of the weekly regulars or will someone come in from another track and take home the prize?

Also racing on this night will be the Pure Stock class, the Mod Lite class, the Midwest Outlaw Lightning Sprints and the Sport Compact class.  For the Pure Stock class this will be a non-points race as we are inviting the competitors from Humboldt, Central Missouri Speedway, Lakeside Speedway, and Nevada Raceway to come compete following their home track rules. The Sport Compact weekly purse was recently increased to $100 to win. The Modified and Midwest Outlaw Lightning Sprint classes have a registration fee but it does include the pit pass for the driver.

Pit gates and grandstand gates open at 3 p.m., drivers meeting is at 6:00, hot laps begin at 6:15 and racing will start at 7 p.m.  I-35 Speedway is located just a short drive north of Liberty, Mo., at exit 64. General admission is $20, seniors 62 and over are $16, children 7-12 are $6 and children 6 and under are free.

Make your plans to attend the Show Me Spectacular at I-35 Speedway this Saturday as our season is winding down.  The track will host two more weekly races after this night on October 22 and October 29 before we put a close to the 2016 racing season.  We will crown our champions, induct new members into the I-35 Speedway Hall of Fame, and present other awards at the season ending banquet on November 12, 2016.
