Mohrfeld Solar Sprint Invaders Jump Into Action Saturday at 34 Raceway!
(Bill W) April 10, 2024 – This Saturday, April 13, the Mohrfeld Solar Sprint Invaders being their 23rd season at the 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa. The event will mark the 2024 opener for both the series and the 3/8-mile oval.
Defending champion, Ryan Bunton of Lincoln, Illinois leads the series into action Saturday. Chapin, Illinois’ Paul Nienhiser was the victor in last year’s season opener at 34 Raceway, and newcomer Zane DeVault won September’s “Fall Haul.”
Saturday marks the 75th feature event contested in Sprint Invaders’ history at 34 Raceway. Matt Rogerson and Jerrod Hull sit atop the all-time win list there with five apiece. John Schulz, Dustin Selvage, Josh Schneiderman and Nienhiser have garnered four each, and Bobby Mincer, Matt Sutton, Kaley Gharst, Ryan Jamison, and Jon Again have three. Two-time winners in West Burlington include Mike Houseman Jr., Joey Moughan, Chris Martin, Terry McCarl and Chase Randall.
Nienhiser’s five wins with the series gave him twelve in his career and catapulted him into the top five in victories with the Sprint Invaders, trailing only Gharst (22), Hull (18), Schulz (15) and McCarl (13).
Gates open Saturday at 5 p.m. Adult General Admission tickets are $18 with students and seniors admitted at $15. Kids 10 and under are FREE. IMCA Modifieds and Mini-Hauler Trucks will also be on the card.
