BURLINGTON, IA (June 25, 2016) – Wow it was hot. But that didn’t stop eighty racers, their crews and fans to get their racing fix on RickSales and Services night Saturday night, June 25 at 34 Raceway. All six winners had been in victory lane one or more times this season. Getting wins were Daniel Bergquist, Burlington (305 Sprints), Brandon Rothzen, Raritan, Il. (IMCA Modifieds), John Oliver Jr., Danville (IMCA Stock Cars), Sean Wyett, Danville (IMCA Sport Mods), Brandon Lambert, Carthage, Il, (4 Cylinders) and Jeff Mallonee, Bettendorf.

Coming up this week is the 4th of July Weekend Extravaganza with racing action including 305 Sprints, IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sport Mods, IMCA Stock Cars, Mod Lites and 4 Cylinders. Enjoy your holiday weekend at 34 Raceway with some fast, high bank action.

A nice field of IMCA Sport Mods were up first for feature action with Joey Gower taking the earlier lead in the eighteen car, fifteen lap race. Gower held the lead from the first six laps before Brandon Lennox got by Gower on lap seven.  Two laps later, Sean Wyett would take his turn at the lead and went on to take the checkered flag for the second time this season. Lennox followed to finish second and Gower, Daniel Keltner and Brett Lowry rounded out the top five.

The IMRA Midgets were back this week with Jeff Mallonee getting the win in the nine car field. Mallonee  would take the lead from Dave Anderson on lap 7 of the ten lap race and went on to get his second win this season.  Brent Burgus, Hunter Lane, Dillon Mosley and Chase McDermand rounded out the top five.

Seventeen 305 Sprint Cars took to the track next with Daniel Bergquist getting his second win of the season. Bergquist took the early lead and pulled away from the field. Behind him was a fierce battle for second between Blaine Jamison and Andy Krieger. The two put on a show for the fans exchanging positions several times before disaster struck on lap sixteen of the twenty lapper. As the two raced into turn three, Jamison got up on the wheel of Krieger sending Jamison into a violent roll to bring out the red flag. Both drivers were ok but the night would end for them. When racing resumed, Bergquist would resume his lead and went on to take the checkered flag. Harold Pohren got by Ryan Jamison, who was in the John Schulz #27 car this week .Pohren finished second followed by Jamison, Dave Getchell and Brayden Gaylord to round out the top five.

IMCA Modified heat winner Chadwick Giberson  and Rich Smith sat on the front row of the fifteen car IMCA Modified feature with Smith leading the field to the green flag on the first lap. Smith led the field for the first two laps before Dugan Thye would get by him for lead. Thye was running strong pulling away from the field.  With Thye looking to pick up his first win the second of three yellow flags came out on lap fifteen of the twenty lap race. Thye’s big lead was taken away on the restart and Brandon Rothzen took advantage taking Thye’s lead away and went on to take the checkered flag. Thye would end up finishing second as Jeff Waterman, Bill Roberts and Dean McGee round out the top five

John Oliver, Jr. Danville, picked up his second straight IMCA Stock Car win, his third this season.  After being towed in to the pits on the wrecker hook in the IMCA Sport Mod feature, Oliver was back to compete in the stock car feature. Oliver took the lead after a battle with John Brockway on lap seven of the fifteen lap race. Three yellow flags in the final six laps made for three restarts but Oliver would continue to hold his lead. The third yellow came on the final lap of the race. The restart gave Tommy Bowling a shot at the lead but Oliver would hold on as the two took the checkered flag bumper to bumper in an exciting finish. John Brockway ran a strong race to finish third with Chase Klenk and Shane Watts rounding out the top five.

The final feature on this hot night saw Brandon Lambert, Carthage, Il., win his second 4 Cylinder feature this year. Lambert took the lead from Ron Kibbe on lap three of the twelve lap race. The two raced side by side, bumper to bumper several times through the twelve lapper. But it would be Lambert holding off Kibble for the win. Kimberly Abbott, Larry Miller and Wayne Chamblee rounded out the top five.
