REBEL 5K returns to the Davenport Speedway

DAVENPORT, Ia. (March 30, 2017) – Spring is in the air and it is time for stock car racing at the Davenport Speedway. The REBEL 5K will kick off the 2017 racing season, on Friday, April 7th. The event is highlighted by IMCA Late Models, racing for a top prize of $5,000-to-win.

The REBEL 5K will be run on the quarter-mile dirt oval at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds.

Also racing at the REBEL 5K will be Modifieds, Street Stocks, and SportMods racing for $1,000-to win. All classes will be using a draw/re-draw format. The event is non-sanctioned and no entry fee is required.

This is the second running of the REBEL 5K. Last year’s race was rained out. The 2015 race was won by Justin Kay of Wheatland, Iowa.

Tickets for the REBEL 5K are $21, students and seniors $18, and children 12 and under are free. Pit passes are $35. The pit gate opens at 3pm., with hot laps at 5:30pm and racing at 6pm.

A practice session will be held on Thursday, April 6th, beginning at 5:30pm. Pit passes for the practice session are $25. Grandstand admission for practice is free.

The Davenport Speedway is located at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, on West Locust Street in Davenport, Iowa.
