Season Championship Night at Marshalltown Speedway Rained Out

Marshalltown, Iowa (August 29th, 2014) – Season Championship night at Marshalltown Speedway has been rained out.

Two inches of rain overnight and more in the forecast has forced the weekly points season to come to an end.  Track champions will be Ronn Lauritzen in the IMCA Modifieds, Donavon Smith in the IMCA Stock Cars, Clint Luellen in the IMCA SportMods, John Watson in the IMCA Hobby Stocks, and Andy Hennigar in the Mod Lites. Racing action will resume at the famed highbanks for the World Nationals on September 18th – 20th.

There will an open practice for all classes with free food and music on Thursday night courtesy of Cookies Barbeque Sauce.   On Friday, it will be a complete show paying $500 to win for IMCA Hobby Stocks, $1,000 to win for both IMCA Stock Cars and IMCA SportMods, and qualifying for the Modifieds.  The Saturday show will see the same format for Hobby Stocks, Stock Cars, and SportMods with a $10,000 payday going to the Modified victor.

The Modified division is the only class that crate motors are not allowed in for this event.  Camping is available for $15 per night with showers and electric provided.
