The 2nd Annual Fall Extravaganza Set For This Weekend at the Lee County Speedway

Donnellson, IA (Monday, October 7, 2013) – After six weeks since the regular points season ended, the Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, IA is set to get back into action this weekend with the 2nd Annual Discount Tire & Service Fall Extravaganza presented by Cole Implement. Thursday night October 10th will get the weekend kicked off with a practice night, with the action set to take place on Friday, October 11th, with the action be presented by PEPSI Memphis Bottling Co. and ending on Saturday, October 12th, with Budweiser presenting the action.

Alot of money is on the line for all five classes, as the Budweiser Modifieds will be going for a top prize of $1,500 to win and $200 to start. While the Donnellson Tire Stock Cars and Shottenkirk Parts Express SportMods will be gunning for a top prize of $1,500 to win and $150 to start. The Coor’s Light Hobby Stocks will be going for $1,000 to win and $150 to start, while the Sunline Auto Parts Sport Compacts are racing for $500 to win and $75 to start.

All the action will kick off on Thursday, October 10th with a practice night. Pit gates will open at 5:30 pm, with the first hot laps secession starting at 7:00 pm. Hot laps will continue until all drivers are satisfied with there cars. Pit passes will be $20 for the driver and car, and $15 for anybody else wanting to go into the pits. Grandstands will be open for FREE admission on Thursday for fans to come out and watch there favorite driver get there cars dialed in before Friday nights action.

Then on Friday, October 11th the Modifieds, Stock Cars, SportMods, Hobby Stocks and Sport Compacts will draw for there first set of heat races to determine there starting line ups. Those heat races will be ran, with points awarded for each finishing position. Then the second set of heats will be inverted, with the highest drawn number in each class starting on the pole. Those heats will be ran, with points again be awarded for each finishing position. Then both heat race points will be totaled up to determine what top 8 drivers in all five classes will be locked into Saturday nights big A Mains.

Saturday, October 12th will be the final night, which will be topped off with all five big A Mains. All drivers, including any new cars, will redraw for the B Mains, with any last chance races needed being ran to give drivers two chances of making into the big A Mains. Then to finish off the weekend the Budweiser Modifieds, the Donnellson Tire Stock Cars and Shottenkirk Parts Express SportMods will be racing for $1,500 to win, while the Coor’s Light Hobby Stocks will be gunning for a top prize of $1,000 and the Sunline Auto Parts Sport Compacts racing for $500 to win.

Don’t forget the pit gates and grandstands will open on Thursday at 5:30 pm, with the first hot laps session starting at 7:00 pm. Then on Friday the pit gates and grandstands will open at 5:00 pm, with hot laps at 6:45 pm, and racing at 7:30 pm. Saturday the pit gates and grandstands will swing open at 4:30 pm, with hot laps set for 6:00 pm, and racing starting at 6:30 pm.

Pit passes for Thursday will be $20 for all drivers and there cars, with anybody else wishing to go to the pits being charged $15. Grandstands for Thursday will be FREE! Then on Friday pit passes will be $25, ages 7-13 $15, and ages 6 & under $10, while grandstand prices will be adults $12, students (7-13) $5, and kids 6 & under FREE! Saturday nights pit passes will be $30, ages 7-13 $15, and ages 6 & under $10, while the grandstands will be adults $15, students (7-13) $5, and kids 6 & under FREE! But a two day pit pass will be offered on Friday for $50, giving you a savings of $5. While a two day grandstand pass will be offered to the adults for $22, also giving you a savings of $5.

There is any entry fee that will be required to be paid on Friday night before you can draw for your starting spot. Those are $75 for the Budweiser Modifieds, $70 for the Donnellson Tire Stock Cars and Shottenkirk Parts Express SportMods, $50 for the Coor’s Light Hobby Stocks, and $40 for the Sunline Auto Parts Sport Compacts. You do not have to race Friday to be able to race on Saturday. But you will still have to pay the entry fee and race for half the purse, unless you choose to pay double the entry fee to race for the full purse.

Camping with showers are available for the weekend. Anybody wishing to have electrical hook ups will be charged $20 per night. Those who wish to camp out can bring there campers with them on Thursday and make a weekend it out of it. Plus there are 3 suites available for this weekend, which can be rented for $75 for 1 night or $125 for the whole weekend.
