USMTS Racing Action from I-35 Speedway

WINSTON, MO (April 26, 2014) – Proof that they are the best in the country USRA Iron Man Stock Cars started the night’s features and did not disappoint.  Starting from the pole and leading every lap Steve Jackson #2j, from Polk City Iowa, would hold off all challengers on his way to earning the nights top spot and big pay day.  Jackson was challenged constantly by #05 of Brett Heeter.  Heeter, from Kansas City Kansas, would use every inch of the track trying to calculate a way around the fast racecar of Jackson.  Jackson would not be denied as Heeter would fade to finish third on the final lap.  Thomas Roberts #65x of Kidder Missouri would race his way from a fifth starting spot to pass Heeter on the last lap to finish second.  Decorah Iowa’s Kyle Falck #67 would relentlessly challenge the front three every lap only to be forced to settle for fourth.  Dean Wray #77, from Jamesport Missouri, started outside row one and would fade late to finish fifth.  Heat race winners were Brett Heeter and Kyle Falck.

Doing Smithville Missouri proud #21c of Chad Clancy would use an outside front row starting position to his advantage to take the early lead and never look back in the USRA Iron Man B Modified feature.  Clancy would lead every lap, holding off the always fast Dakota Foster #5, from Gardner Kansas, forcing the pole sitter Foster to place second.  The Red1 of Savage Minnesota’s Dan Wheeler would charge through the pack and battle Saint Joseph Missouri’s Truman Asher #73 door handle to door handle to finish third at the checkers, leaving Asher to place fourth.  The hard charger would be Yancy Shepard #20y of Smithville Missouri, coming from a twelfth starting position to round out the nights top five.  Heat race winners included Cory Crapser #07, Chad Clancy #21c, Truman Asher #73, and Jake Richards #7j.  The B-Feature winner was Mike Higley #11.

The Major League Bowhunter USMTS Modifieds took to the 3/8 mile of dirt in fine fashion.  Pole sitter and heat race winner Rodney Sanders #20, from Happy Texas, was the night’s big winner.  Sanders would jump out to a big lead only to see the lead evaporate in the late stages as #33z, of New Sharon Iowa’s, Zack VanderBeek would charge through the pack only to run out of laps and settle for the runner up position.  With great racing throughout the entire field Stormy Scott #20r, of Las Cruces New Mexico, would find I-35 Speedway to his liking and charge to the third finishing position.  Osceola Nebraska’s own Dylan Smith #95 fresh off an earlier heat race win would battle another heat race winner in John Allen #98, from Chanute Kansas.  Both Allen and Smith would drive their hearts out with Smith gaining the advantage to claim fourth leaving Allen to fifth.
