WoO tire rule change at Independence Motor Speedway

| July 29, 2013

INDEPENDENCE, Iowa (July 29, 2013) – The list of acceptable tires has been expanded for the Monday, August 5 World of Outlaws Late Model Series event at Independence Motor Speedway.

Originally, the rule for Independence was the same as the USA Nationals at Cedar Lake Speedway and included only LM 40-compound and WRS and WRS-2 55-compound rubber as acceptable tires. That has been adjusted to allow LM20s and LM30s for the event in Independence.

World of Outlaws officials recently contacted the speedway with the change, stating the exclusion of the LM20s and LM30s is an option for the USA Nationals due its status as a $50,000-to-win event, but is no longer an option for Independence.

The Karl Performance Hawkeye Dirt Tour presented by XSAN joins the World of Outlaws for the August 5 special. The IMCA Modified series will be making its first return to Independence since May of 2010.

Gates open at 4 p.m. on August 5, with hot laps at 6:45 and qualifying to follow. Grandstand admission is $30 for adults and $15 for kids 12 and under. Pit passes are $35.
