20th Annual Dart Show Me 100 and Alphabet Soup Race This Weekend

BUCKNER, MO (May 23, 2012) – It’ll be a busy holiday weekend for the Lucas Oil MLRA. First up the series will take part in the 20th Annual Dart Show Me 100 Presented by ProtectTHeHarvest.com, Thursday-Saturday. Then on Sunday, the Annual Alphabet Soup race will run from I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, NE. 

Show Me 100 practice gets underway Thursday evening from 6-9 PM. The traditional BBQ dinner will be served following practice’s conclusion. Grandstand Admission is FREE for Thursday’s shakedown. Qualifying will take place on Friday with Time Trials and Heat Races along with the Crawford Supply Race of Champions Presented by Traeger Grills and the U.S. Steel Manufacturers Dash Presented by Fast Shafts. Modifieds will run as the support class on Friday only.

Saturday will find the last chance qualifiers and the 100 Lap Main Event. There will be concerts on both Thursday and Friday evenings, as well as a host of activities surrounding the entire weekend. The new Lake Lucas and Show Me Beach will also keep fans occupied. It’s Dirt Late Model Racing’s first Crown Jewel of the season and this year’s edition promises to be the best yet.

This season the Alphabet Soup race will be a combined effort between the Lucas Oil MLRA and Corn Belt Clash. The winner of the 50 lap feature will receive $5,000. There will also be a guaranteed starting position in the 2nd Annual Silver Dollar Nationals, taking place July 19-21. Chris Simpson blew an engine with three laps to go in last year’s race while comfortably out front. Will Vaught won the first Late Model special of the year, at I-80 Speedway, in April. Modifieds and Hobby Stocks will run in support of the Late Model show. The pits open at 3 PM and the grandstands at 5 PM. Racing starts at 6:35 PM.
