Davenport Speedway gearing up for IMCA Modified Madness 50

DAVENPORT, Ia. (May 23, 2011) – The Davenport Speedway will get the Memorial Day weekend off to a fast start this Friday, May 25th, with the running of the IMCA Modified Madness 50.

IMCA Modified racers will invade the quarter-mile dirt oval, looking for a big payday. DRT TRAK Racing Inc., is hosting the event which will pay $2,000 to win.

The IMCA Modified feature will be 50-laps, with 20 cars making the main. The modifieds will use a draw/re-draw format. There will be a $50 entry fee for IMCA Modifieds, for this event.

Brian Webb, of Davenport, won the IMCA Modified Shootout last year.  Thirty-six drivers from four states took part in last year’s race at the Davenport Speedway.

Also racing at Davenport, will be IMCA Late Models, Street Stocks, and 4 Stocks. Pit gates at Davenport open at 4p.m. Hot laps are at 6:30pm and racing starts at 7pm. The Davenport Speedway is located at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, on West Locust Street, in Davenport.

Grandstand admission for the event will be: Adults $15, Teens/Seniors $14.
