Shelby County hosts Tiny Lund Memorial Sept. 14-15

HARLAN, Iowa – The 21st annual Tiny Lund Memorial is set for Friday and Saturday, Sept. 14-15 at Shelby County Speedway.

The IMCA Modified feature pays $3,000 to win, a minimum of $200 to start and is a qualifier for the 2013 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot.

IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars and Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods both race for $2,000 to win and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for a top prize of $1,000.

IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, regional and Allstar Performance State points will be awarded to Modified, Stock Car and Hobby Stock drivers. National and state points are at stake for Northern SportMods.

Gates open at 5 p.m. and Friday’s program of heat races for all divisions and pole dashes for Modifieds and Stock Cars follows the 6:30 p.m. drivers’ meeting. Pit passes are $25 and grandstand admission is $15 for adults and $10 for students that evening.

Pit gates open at 4 p.m. Saturday with the 6 p.m. drivers’ meeting preceding last chance features and the main events. Pit passes are $30. Grandstand admission is $15 for adults and $10 for students.

Kids 10 and under get in free both nights when accompanying a paid adult. Rain date is Sunday, Sept. 16. Camping spots will be available on the fairgrounds.
